This test prep book is extremely similar to the CISSP Official (ISC)2 Practice Tests in the way it is organized and the impeccable effort that was put into it, especially regarding the quality and detail of the questions provided. The test questions are challenging and the explanations the author provides in the Appendix are extremely informative; he explains everything with clarity and detail. You can tell a lot of time and effort went into this book. I highly recommend taking these practice tests as part of your review prior to sitting for the exam. This will be my third (ISC)2 Certification exam and in my opinion, this book is an essential resource in preparing for the test. It is a must have.
Long story short...I took a one week bootcamp, took the test shortly after and failed by one question. ISC2 requires you to wait 90 days before you can retest. I bought this book, did 100 questions every morning, and reviewed the ones I got wrong each evening. I also read the CBOK an hour each day. I waited till the last week to take the two "Final exams" to see how I was really doing. I scored in the 90's, and felt pretty confident. Of course none of these questions are on the exam, but knowing the 1000 facts they contain, allowed me to piece together the much more difficult actual exam questions. I'm no stranger to tough tests, and have a CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, and CEH. This is the first exam of this caliber that I had to retake.
The good: The CCSP Official ISC2 Practice Tests provides an excellent and comprehensive set of practice tests. The book has a minimal number of errors. The access to the online question bank by itself is worth the cost of the book.The bad: This book can create a false sense of preparedness for the real exam. Don’t assume because you score well on these tests that you will pass the actual exam. Don’t memorize the questions thinking you’ll see the same questions on the real test, use the questions to test your understanding of the core concepts. When you fail a question, re-read your training materials and do additional external research. Don’t rely on ANY single source to prepare for this test. This certification exam, more than others, tests your actual understanding of the concepts. Rote memorization will not help you pass this test.
Typical of ISC(2) preparation materials. Good overall look at material at hand, few typos or obviously wrong questions covering 6 cloud domains needed to pass the exam. Like any one certification material, always suggest reading as much as you can from both the answers and bibliographical references before sitting for the exam. Questions tend to be a bit simpler than those on the exam itself but this has always been true and continues with the material contained in this book as well.
I passed the CCSP in July, after 4-5 months of study using the (ISC)2 official CBK and Study guide, online references (many linked from the printed references), and this practice test set. These questions were the perfect complement to the "foundational" Official CBK and Study Guide. Good variety of questions covering all domains, with detailed explanations behind each of the questions and answers. In case you're wondering, no, this is NOT an "Exam Dump!" None of the questions in these practice tests were in the actual exam... but you shouldn't expect them to be. They expand on your knowledge of the fundamentals, rather than providing a reference for rote memorization.Highly recommended for anyone studying for the CCSP!
I passed last month. I Used the online question format to help study. If you can go through all the questions and understand why an answer is the correct one and why the other choices are wrong (each question comes with explanations to assist in this) then you are well on your way to being able to pass. No, you won't see these exact questions on the exam, but you will get a good feel for what topics might be covered. I coupled this with the Study Guide and felt comfortable when sitting for the exam. I do feel some of these questions are more "in the weeds" than what I saw on the exam, but your experience may vary.

These practice tests were representative of the actual exam questions (but not the same obviously). Some of the questions are actually a bit trickier, which helped me on the exam. I just passed it. This is the second time I sit for this exam and wish I got these practice tests earlier. I used only the online question bank that comes with it. Didn’t touch the actual paper book.
