My daughter received this as a gift and she loves it! It took her a little while to get used to how to use it in correlation with the books, but now she uses it all the time. The stories are obviously very shortened versions but the overall stories are still pretty intact and engaging for her to follow. I am also very surprised at the batteries. She has used it a ton over the last year and we have yet to replace them. Definitely would get this set for a little kid that is just getting into reading.
My 3 year loves this reader. She is able to “read†these on her own. It’s easy to follow. There are beeps to tell her when to turn the page and corresponding markers on the page and reader to help her figure out what book she’s reading and what page she is on. I loved this one so much we bought a different themed one as well (Mickey Mouse). They’re great.
The books that are arrived are different from the picture. I have no way of knowing if the stories are the same, but they’re just the basic fairy tale stories, so I assume it’s the same. Downside is that my daughter has been asking for the books in the picture, so now I’m going to have to explain to a three year old they’re the same books. Wish me luck. Maybe add a “pictures and colors vary†to the description.
Nice pack of great classic Disney stories, just very essential summary. Great quality of paper, nice voice with good music coming from the reader
My two year old loves to read these books. Luckily, they are all pretty short and fast to read if you need to keep reading them on request! My little one doesn't really understand how to work the reader yet, but she still loves to carry it around and push the buttons.
It is very easy for a child to learn how to select stories. This was purchased for a friend’s daughter who will begin kindergarten in the fall. She can track the words as it is read & is one of her favorite books to “read,†since she can do it by herself.
These are wonderful! My daughter got her first set when she was 2 and wasn't into them. She got these for her 5th perfect and she's now the perfect age for them! It's great that she can "read" independently!
We bought this for our daughter as a gift for being a new big sister. It worked for two days before the reader stopped working. It now only makes a single syllable sound. Also, because we bought it in advance, the return window is now closed. I would not recommend this product. I would love to return this product to see if this was a unique situation or more common. I guess if I do not get a return option, that will tell me that it is more common!
You will not get what's pictured, so don't waste your money. The books and the electronic device came in a plastic bag. Very disappointed and will be returning.
