Honestly, there are way too many cards. I used the ASWB exam guide and made my own flashcards. I passed the test on the first try. I bought these towards the end of my studying and hardly looked at them. There were just piles and piles. You'd be better off the make your own flashcards use the aforementioned guide, which is what I did. If you have months to study, maybe these are for you. I found them to be superfluous. I studied for about 5 weeks- after work and on weekends. I found that my own cards and a review of the DSM was enough for me. I also recommend taking the ASWB practice test ($80 on their website). You have to have registered for the actual test to register for the practice test. Try and recreate the same time constraints, so you have an idea of what it’s like to sit there for 4 hours. Don’t stop the timer for bathroom breaks, because your timer keeps running in the actual test. The main thing is knowing how to apply the information to the vignettes because the clinical exam has so many application questions, i.e. what to do next, Good luck!
I purchased this product twice now, the first time to take my LISW when I moved from Michigan to New Mexico and the states do not have reciprocity. I used this product to study for the test 11 years ago. I took the test and passed the first time. I am purchasing this product again because I am supervising several LMSW students who want to sit for the LISW/LCSW exam here in New Mexico. We will be using this product to prepare them to take the test soon. I like the Clinical categories in the product.I highly endorse this product!
Purchased these cards. While generally informational, they were not very helpful to me in retaining useful information that actually helped me answer any of the questions on the test. The test is not so much theoretical, but oriented on professional and ethical judgement in resolving different scenarios. I regret purchasing them, but they may be a good tool for somebody with a different learning style.
The only complaint I have is the cards don't come already separated. It took me some time to get them apart and looking like flash cards. They were very helpful and easy to use, once they were apart. I would recommend these cards to anyone studying for the ASWB Clinical exam. Best part, I passed on the first try!!!!
The flashcards are very helpful in breaking-down the material and makes it much easier because I can separate cards I have mastered versus cards I need to study further. The flashcards are much more efficient than studying a book with large sections of information and then spending excess time on having to write down or type a bunch of notes.
I have been studying with these cards diligently for almost 2 weeks. These cards are blowing me out of my mind. It's so much material, and I am wondering how I will familiarize myself with all of this material. I hope that I will be able to recall the information on the back of some of these cards.
