I thought Began was stronger than that. Oh well. New twists though so looking forward to what's next. There's hope. Lol
I like the direction the story is going.... just wish the show would have stayed in the same lane... at least a little more
the Negan stuff at the end was probably one of the best moments in the series. In a long time at least
Great easy fun read, great story constantly changing and keeping me interested. Always love the new characters and cant wait to see what happens with some of my old favorites.
Honestly I can never get tired of reading twd. There's just so many ways Rob Kirkman can go with this story. But another great volume.
Coming hot off the heels of back-to-back nonstop rides that were Volumes 27 (“Whisperer Warâ€) and 28 (“A Certain Doomâ€), we were about due for a slower “The Walking Dead†arc, which is exactly what Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard give us with Volume 29. Thankfully, unlike other gradually-paced arcs that the series has given us, Volume 29 never feels like it’s purposefully dragging its feet narratively or prolonging “big†events just for the sake of stretching things out. Instead, the slower pace of these six issues feels like a welcome and necessary respite from the chaotic proceedings of the last 12. Throw in the fact that Adlard’s stuff has seriously never looked better, and “The Walking Dead†is shuffling along just as strong as ever.
Thanks to Image Comics for the ARCThough the plot doesn't really further itself in this volume, the action scenes give it the boost it needs to make it an enjoyable read. I also really enjoyed the addition of 'Princess' and the ending scene with Negan makes me want to pick up the next Volume as soon as it comes out. I would say next issue, but I sorta like getting the whole story arc in one volume.Â
I've read Walking Dead comics for six years now. This was one of the best! I like the new character Juanita/Princess (on the cover). It's always fun to have an oddball chatting you up during a zombie apocalypse. I can't wait to read the next volume. I believe the show is moving toward this particular story arc.
